Demazin
Each of the Demazin products combines an effective antihistamine with a proven decongestant. While the active ingredient in each is often different, they all serve the same function. The antihistamine treats the symptoms of an allergic reaction. It does this by reducing the effectiveness of the chemical histamine released by the body in response to the introduction of allergens into the system. Histamine is the substance manufactured by the body that triggers many of the symptoms familiar to allergy sufferers. These symptoms include a runny or itchy nose, sneezing, and watery, itchy eyes, like those experienced by hayfever, or allergic rhinitis sufferers. The decongestant in each product provides relief from a runny nose as well as sinus and nasal congestion. This is achieved by reducing the swelling of the mucosal tissue in the nose and sinuses and by constricting the blood vessels in these areas. This open up the air passages and makes breathing easier.
Demazin Day/Night Relief offers assistance in the form of separate day and night tablets. The green, non-drowsy 'Day' tablets contain the 120mg of the decongestant pseudoephedrine sulfate. They provide 12-hours of relief from congestion without making you drowsy. The blue 'Night' tablets also contain pseudoephedrine sulfate 120mg (milligrams) but include 6mg of the antihistamine dexchlorpheniramine maleate. Demazin Day/Night Relief is available in a pack of 12 tablets, including 6 each of both types of tablet.
Each Demazin Non-Drowsy repetab contains 5mg of the antihistamine Loratadine and 6mg of the decongestant pseudoephedrine sulfate. Demazin Non-Drowsy Repetabs are available in a packet of 10 repeat action slow release tablets. The repetabs provide effective relief from allergy symptoms for 12-hours.
Demazin Syrup and Demazin Clear Syrup each contain 1.25mg of the antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate and 2.5mg of the decongestant phenylephrine hydrochloride as their active ingredients. The only difference is that Demazin Clear Syrup contains no artificial flavourings and is formulated for use by children. Demazin Syrup is available in a 200ml (millilitre) bottle while Demazin Clear Syrup comes in a smaller 100ml bottle. Both offer around 6 to 8 hours relief from the symptoms of allergies.
Demazin Syrup with Dropper is intended to be administered to very young children and includes a convenient dropper to help achieve the correct dosage for each age group. It provides relief from allergy symptoms for 6 to 8 hours. Demazin Syrup with Dropper with Dropper contains 1.25mg of the antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate and 2.5mg of the decongestant phenylephrine hydrochloride as its active ingredients. It is available in a 50ml bottle that includes a child-resistant cap.
