Claratyne Syrup. In the USA, Claratyne is called Claritin. The antihistamine Claratyne Syrup is a quick and effective means to reduce the symptoms of allergies. As an antihistamine, it subdues the effect that histamine has on the body. The chemical histamine is released when the immune system is re-exposed to an allergen that it has become previously sensitised to. Allergens can be anything from tree, plant or grass pollen to mould spores or dust mite debris. Histamine is the substance that makes you sneeze, makes your nose run, your eyes water, and makes your face itch, symptoms that will be familiar if you have hayfever, also known as seasonal allergic rhinitis. Claratyne Syrup is suitable for the treatment of chronic urticaria ( hives ), contact dermatitis and other skin allergies. The main ingredient in Claratyne Syrup is 1mg/ml of Loratadine, which is formulated not to cause drowsiness. Because each dose of Claratyne Syrup is sufficient for 24-hours of relief, it only needs to be taken once daily. Claratyne Syrup is available in a 100ml bottle of syrup.
